Points to Note:
- Equivalent scores are those with the same percentile ranks for a common group of test takers.
- The SAT I scores here have been adjusted to reflect the effect of recentering. Do not use these tables for SAT or SAT I scores from test dates prior to April 1, 1995.
- A concordance table is dependent on the sample used to establish the relationship between two sets of scores. Other available SAT I-ACT tables use different samples of colleges and students than those by this table and result in slightly different equivalent scores. For this reason, the best concordance table is one that is established for and used by the specific information.
Technical Data:
- Data are based on 40,051 students who took both the traditional SAT and the ACT between October 1989 and June 1990 and sent their score to any of a group of 14 universities. (See Methods Used to Establish Score Comparabilitiy on the Enhanced ACT Assessment and the SAT, by G.L. Marco, A.A. Abdel-fattah, and P.A. Baron, College Board Report No: 92-93, New York, NY 1992). If you would like to order a copy of this report, please send us an e-mail.
- Data based on the SAT I: Reasoning Test will be published as they become available.
- SAT I scores do not cover the full range of the ACT scale due to differences in the way percentiles are distributed at the top and bottom of the two scales.
