State Adultery Laws Repealed

statutory subsection that provided that adultery
disqualified an applicant from being found to possess
good moral character. Pub.L. 97-116, 2(c), Dec. 29, 1981,
95 Stat. 1611, repealing 8 U.S.C. 1101(f)(2). We
recognize that a brief reference in the 1981 House Report
to the repeal of the adultery provision indicated that
adultery could still be taken into account in finding a
lack of "good moral character".
