In Burbank, "the silent treatment" is Domestic Violence

But only from a man

"Sexual abuse is also very common.  This would include any time a woman is an unwilling participant" [note: it says nothing about the man]

"Abuse can also be verbal and emotional.  This could involve yelling, swearing, or even giving the woman [but not the man] the silent treatment.  Many times economic control is used over women to isolate and intimidate them"
