Christos
As many of us already know, the Greek word "christos" which was translated as "Christ" is most of the time NOT a reference to Jesus, but to "christos", or ANY of God's "annointed", including Jesus: And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.Galatians 3:29 Should this actually read?: "And if ye be [anointed], then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise".
This is Strong's definition of "christos" which shows that this is not the name of Jesus, but merely the title of the anointed of God:
WHO are "anointed"? Anointed ANOINT'ED , pp. Smeared or rubbed with oil; set apart; consecrated with oil. ANOINT'ED , n. The Messiah, or Son of God, consecrated to the great office of Redeemer; called the Lord's anointed. Cyrus is also called the Lord's anointed. Isa 45. Cyrus was the King of Persia! Yet he was "anointed"! Isa 45:1 Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and ungird the loins of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed:
If a Persian king can be referred to as "anointed", then what true blue Israelite who knows in his heart who the House of Israel is, and HOW he was LIED to by the "church" about his glorious heritage, CANNOT be referred to as "anointed", or "christos"? Psa 18:50 Great triumphs he gives to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his descendants for ever.
This does not refer to just ONE descendant of David--it refers to ALL descendants of David. Are THEY the "annointed" referred to in Galatians 3:29? Are ALL of the House of Israel "annointed" or "christos"? Is THAT who Jesus said He was sent ONLY to?: He said in reply, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 15:24
