Strong's Concordanc defines the Greek word "diakatelegchomai" as "confute", which Webster's dictionary defines as "disprove, to make useless". Yet the King James translators defined it to mean "convinced". Consider the differences between the following two possibilities:

Why would King James translators take a passage which shows that the Apostle Paul publicly embarrased the jews by proving that they were wrong and make it seem that he merely "convinced" them [in public]? This is an EGREGIOUS error!!!
