PATRICK FAGAN

WILLIAM H. G. FITZGERALD SENIOR FELLOW IN FAMILY AND
CULTURAL ISSUES
A former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services during the Bush
Administration, Patrick Fagan examines the relationship between family, community, and
social problems. He also studies urban policy, the breakdown of the family in America,
crime, and cultural issues. He has served as a Legislative Analyst for Senator Dan Coats
of Indiana and, before becoming involved in public policy, was a family therapist,
sociologist, and clinical psychologist in the inner city and elsewhere.
Fagan, a native of Ireland, earned his masters degree in psychology at University
College Dublin and has pursued doctoral studies at The American University.
