Reading Habits In 2002, 18% of Americans report that they have not read any books in the past year, while 31% read between 1 and 5 books, 15% read 6 to 10, 27% read 11-50 and 8% read more than 50. Worry About Medical Costs Women are more likely then men to say they are worried about not being able to pay medical or health costs over the next twelve months. More than a third of women (37%) say they worry about paying medical costs, compared to 28% of men who say they worry. [Dec. 16-17, 2002]
Worry About Losing Your Job? More than a third of non-white Americans (36%) say they are worried they or a spouse will lose their job in the next 12 months. Among white Americans, less then a quarter (21%) say they are worried about losing their job. [Dec. 16-17, 2002]
