You can run but you can't hide!


 Ah, Kekkon! For as long as I'd been associated with Japan, it seemed that nothing could be finer for my woman friends than to "goal in" with their sweetie, and have a happy marriage. Then came the 90s, and I went back to Tokyo to find a whole generation of working woman too busy to bother with boyfriends, and male friends stumbling around in the aftermath of "out-of-the-blue" divorce filings by their wives. What happened? That's what I and some of the best women reporters at HQ back in Tokyo tried to find out late last year. What we found made it onto the cover of our November 10, 1996 edition.
