The American Legacy
What would you, as a Martian visiting Earth for the first time, think of the country which has 35 times as many of its citizens per capita in prison than China when it accuses China of "human rights violations"? Or when it has a third of the people in the world behind bars as it demands a seat on the UN Human Rights Commission? Or when it already knows that it has executed 31 men who were recently discovered to be innocent of all crimes yet continues its policy of capital punishment? |
