Granting American women legal rights in the 19th Century was followed by a fifty fold increase in the divorce rate in the US, resulting in 41 million more divorces than there would have been without granting these rights.

Empirical studies show that a conservative 21 million deaths in the 20th Century in the US can be traced directly to these extra divorces.

The ten fold increase in our murder rate can be traced directly to granting women legal rights, costing an extra one million American lives in the 20th century . Our murder rate was one third of the world average before women gained legal rights, but it is now more than three times higher than that average. Other countries like Japan and Spain which have not granted women legal rights have homicide rates equivalent to ours in the latter part of the 19th Century..

Increasing our incarceration rate seventeen fold since then didn't reduce crime, rape, or murder at all, but it did result in American men becoming one third of the men in the world behind bars.

If we had had an incarceration rate equivalent to Japan's over the last 60 years, there would have been 30 million fewer manyears of incarceration in the US. Added to the 30 million manyears of justice system expenditures necessary to accomodate this expanded prison population (judges, lawyers, jailers, correctional officers, probation officers, parole officers, etc.) this is equvalent to half of our labor force, or one half of a year's GDP. It also shortened men's life expectancies by a total of 15 million man years, which is the equivalent of 205,000 lives.
