 | "After seven-hundred years of struggle against aliens, who had not only
invaded from without but occupied the country from within, Spain expelled the Moors in
1492. It was not enough to simply defeat the external threat, but to rid the land of every
last vestige of alien influence. Then, the marvelous age of discovery could begin." http://www.nationalist.org/docs/ideology/no.html

 | In support of the fact that the Muslim rule in Islam was on the whole based on
toleration, numerous instances can be quoted, one of the Spanish Muslims who were driven
out of Spain in the last expulsion of the Moors in 1610, while protesting against the
persecutions of the Inquisitions, makes the following vindication of the toleration of his
fellow Muslims: http://www.alislam.org/askislam/islam/articles/00000239.html

 | Moorish invaders from Africa overthrew the Visigoths at the battle of Guadalete in 711.
Thus began seven centuries of Muslim power in Spain. http://ragz-international.com/history_of_spain.htm

 | In 1492the year, of course, when Columbus landed in the AmericasIslamic
Moors were exiled from the Iberian peninsula. Some became Barbarian pirates and turned to
attacking the ships of Christian Europe. The Christian states, in turn, granted many
Christians (and hence Europeans) authority to become pirates with letters of marque to
attack other nations ships. The post-Columbus age, it seems, was an age of pirates.http://www.medialounge.net/lounge/workspace/nettime/DOCS/zkp5/pdf/subjects.pdf

 | EXPULSION OF 250,000 MIXED
RACE MOORS Finally in 1609, the Spanish king Philip III ordered the physical
expulsion of some 250,000 "Moriscos" or Christianized Moors from the country.
The Moriscos were in fact of mixed White/Moorish ancestry and in this way a large number
of mixed race inhabitants of southern Spain were forcibly expelled from that country. http://www4.stormfront.org/whitehistory/hwr23.htm

 | The Moors inhabited Europe from 711 AD until Columbus set sail to the
Indies in 1492. At that time, they were driven out by the Spaniards along with the Jews
during the Spanish Inquisition, who ordered the burning of the accumulated literature.
Hence a people, its history, culture and empire were lost and forgotten. But not in its
entirety. The "Moorish" people, as the Blacks were described in the pre-Islamic
era were noted for their skin color by such descriptive phrases as "black as melted
pitch" and "blacker than ink" quoted Van Sertima in his book "Golden
Age of the Moor". http://www.hotep.bigstep.com/generic.html?pid=63
