What Do You Think About Global Warming Now?

As Washington, DC was pummeled by record snowfall, Obama and his team
continued their push for more funds to be diverted from our wallets and
into his "Global Change Research Program." In his new budget, Obama is
asking for a 21 percent increase in funds over last year. This despite
growing evidence that climate data was manipulated to further a
conclusion that was to the liking of people such as Obama, Al Gore, and
the host of other socialist leaders who want to further tax and control
the planet under the "global warming" banner.
Now, more news is coming out. It turns out that the man at the center
of the "climate-gate" scandal now admits that there has been no global
warming over the past fifteen years. It just shows how Obama doesn't get
it. Rather than return money and power to the people, he'd rather take
more and put it into a program that is not based on science but on
politics.
For some background,
NewsBusters.org reports on a Washington Post story that depicts
the growing plight of the global warming advocates.
With its 2007 report declaring that the "warming of the climate
system is unequivocal," the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change won a Nobel Prize -- and a new degree of public trust in the
controversial science of global warming.
But recent revelations about flaws in that seminal report, ranging
from typos in key dates to sloppy sourcing, are undermining
confidence not only in the panel's work but also in projections
about climate change. Scientists who have pointed out problems in
the report say the panel's methods and mistakes -- including
admitting Saturday that it had overstated how much of the
Netherlands was below sea level -- give doubters an opening.
The Washington Post story continues:
But in the past year, a cache of stolen e-mails, revealing that
prominent climate scientists sought to prevent the publication of
works by their detractors, has sullied their image as impartial
academics. The errors in the U.N. report -- a document intended to
be the last nail in the coffin of climate doubt -- are a serious
problem that could end up forcing environmentalists to focus more on
the old question of proving that climate change is a threat, instead
of the new question of how to stop it.
The story still has the slant that global warming is real and that it
needs to be "reproven" in order to get the skeptics to back down. As
NewsBusters.org reporter Tim Graham notes, "The Post account
failed to note the BBC's new interview with climate scientist/activist
Phil 'Hide the Decline' Jones, who called his 'trick' of merging
tree-ring data with thermometer data was 'a convenient way of achieving
something', in this case joining the earlier valid part of the tree-ring
record with the recent, more reliable instrumental record. In other
words, 'reliable' is defined as 'whatever proves my drastic-warming
thesis.'"
Speaking of "scientist" Phil Jones, a story on
FOXNews.com about the BBC interview reveals that Jones now
admits "there has been no global warming over the past 15 years."
Jones also allowed for the possibility that the world as a whole was
warmer in medieval times than it is today -- a concession that may
also undermine theories that global warming is caused by man.
In addition, Jones admitted that an overall lack of organization,
and his poor record keeping and office-tidying skills, had
contributed to his reluctance to share data with critics, which he
regretted.
The Heritage Foundation also studied the
BBC interview of Phil Jones and was particularly interested in
the following question and answer:
BBC: "When scientists say "the debate on climate change is over",
what exactly do they mean - and what don't they mean?"
Jones: "It would be supposition on my behalf to know whether all
scientists who say the debate is over are saying that for the same
reason. I don't believe the vast majority of climate scientists
think this. This is not my view. There is still much that needs to
be undertaken to reduce uncertainties, not just for the future, but
for the instrumental (and especially the palaeoclimatic) past as
well."
The Heritage Foundation was correct is focusing on this response
because it points to our current state of affairs where politics is
forcing an issue of science when the full scientific understanding
doesn't even exist.
If the vast majority of climatologists do not believe the debate on
climate change is over, why do our politicians pushing for cap and
trade and a transition to a "clean energy economy" repeatedly assert
that the science is settled? Because the Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change said so and told us that a warming planet was
"unequivocal."
And because this is NOT about the climate. It's about money and power
and another way for people to be taxed and an elite group of "leaders"
to get rich.
Obama's call for increased funding for his global warming program
should be rejected completely. This is not the role of the federal
government, and the "debate" over global warming is far from over. Let's
get back to the business of the smaller government mandated in the
Constitution. That would be change we could all believe in.

I've always said this wasn't about Global warming it's about how much
money you can get. In Historical geology, through ice core samples we
have learned that the highest levels of Co2 were during the Ice Ages.
That makes me tend to believe that Co2 is not a green house gas. The
best solution to the Co2 problem, if you believe there is one, is to
plant trees. That is a much better solution than "Cap & Trade". By the
way Co2 makes plants grow faster and larger. Let these corporations
plant forest in America instead of sending our money to other countries.
So far millions of dollars of the stimulus money for green jobs have
gone to Spain, Italy and China to name a few.

I think the same thing I have always thought...global warming is a
lie! When these so-called scientist can tell us when, in the history of
the world, the climate has NOT changed....then maybe we'll listen to
their claims. Until then, we cannot allow our government to use one
penny of our tax dollars for "green" initiatives that will "necessarily
cause energy costs to skyrocket". NO THANK YOU!

As a scientist I am always suspicious of those that draw conclusions
before all the data has been collected, especially when these
conclusions coincide so neatly with their political and ideological
belief structure. The global warming mantra has suffered some lately
because of unseasonable weather trends that suggest a cooling rather
than heating of our ecosphere. Well, which is it? If we intend to do
something about it (a beautiful example of anthropocentric hubris) we
really need to know what is really taking place. Why? because the
treatment is very different for addressing cooling as opposed to
warming. In the first case we might need to increase the level of
greenhouse gasses while in the latter they, supposedly, need to be
reduced. Clearly if we are going to "do something" we need to have a
clear idea of what problem we are trying to solve.
Application of the scientific method (a concept that is apparently
ignored completely in law school) could come to the rescue but unlike
the Hippocratic oath taken by all physicians, first do no harm, there is
no such imposed fidelity to objectivity for scientists. All to often
science is driven by the axiom "Follow the Money" and if you want your
pet research program to get funding you must pay homage to the current
political gods.
I don't know if the planet is actually warming or cooling and that is
not because I have not been paying attention. The data is still
inconclusive, at least to my satisfaction. So if we are going to embark
on a massive politically driven effort to change the composition of our
atmosphere it might be a good idea to know what really needs to be done,
assuming that we know enough to do anything at all.

The Global Warming scare is unraveling. The current findings that the
climate scientists in the UN IPCC had an agenda that they needed support
invalidates their results and conclusions. See my Independent Analysis

Cap & Tax along with ObamaCare is not about saving Mother Earth or
concern about healthcare, it's a scam, it's all about money and power.
All Obama and his Marxist handlers need is a "Cash Cow" or two to
finance their Marxist agenda and they are set to control the nation for
their lifetimes, to hell with the country. The American people are
starting to wake up to this fact and do not want or like it one bit.The
Progressives are getting cornered with their lies and broken promises
and that is what is making them very dangerous. They will do anything to
protect their cash flow potential, ie: high taxes on everything from
everyone to spend and share with whom ever they wish.

Yes, it's definitely not about saving the earth or saving the people.
I keep hearing from pundits that "Obama doesn't get it" but I maintain
that he most certainly does get it. This is exactly what "they" have
been working toward for years - a way to grab all the power and money
while convincing the little people that they can solve all the crises of
the world (usually crises they create in the first place).
If you're not praying, you're not paying attention.

Al Gore has made a fortune on the theory of global warming, but as
far as I know there is no evidence that global warming "is the biggest
scam in our history". If that is true, what is causing the ice caps to
melt? We should have a scientific explanation for this before resorting
to conspiracy theories and name calling.

Biggest scam in history. The one thing that I want to see happen is
for the Al Gores and his ilk to eventually have to pay back all the
money that they've "earned" on this charade. The only "inconvenient
truth" in all of this is that even the scientists among us will lie if
it's in their best interest (monetarily and otherwise). Yet another
reason to never give people, organizations, movements, etc. any of our
tax money. It'll always come back to haunt us.

To satisfy my curiosity and be sure I knew which way was up on this,
I studied the global warming phenomenon in depth. The last time global
temperatures peaked was around the year 1000A.D. and it was much warmer
than it is now. Geologists call it the “Medieval Warm Era”. The Vikings
came to North America and called it Greenland because it was “green”.
Agriculture was the primary industry in Iceland and wineries flourished
throughout all of England.
Fast forward seven-hundred years and nothing was green in Greenland
or Iceland, and the people of London would hold winter festivals on the
Thames River because it would freeze over. Geologists call this period
the “Little Ice Age”.
This warming-cooling cycle has been occurring fairly regularly for a
very long time. In Al Gore’s PowerPoint presentation he displays 2
graphs showing the rise and fall of CO2 levels and global temperatures
for the last 100,000 years and implies a cause and effect. The problem
with his presentation is when you superimpose the 2 graphs you find the
rise in temperature occurs first, followed by the rise in CO2. When
Onewildman says CO2 levels are highest during ice ages, he’s exactly
right because temperatures for the cycle have peaked and are on their
way down while the CO2 levels are still rising. This cycle has been
repeating not just for the last 100,000 years, but for the last million
years. The ice-core samples bear this out. Our climate has been steadily
warming since around 1700 and if a million years of history are correct,
it will continue to warm for the next 400 years.
And if that isn’t enough, elementary school mathematics shows it’s
preposterous to suggest that anthropogenic CO2 can have any effect on
global temperatures because of all the heat radiating from the surface
of the planet, it reflects (or traps) .0003% of it. If you want to know
what causes global warming, on the next warm day look up (but shade your
eyes). Like most stars, Sol pulses, not as fast as pulsars but it does.
And a pulse occurs about every … 1400 years.

I have never bought into the whole global warming hysteria. Anyone
who took Geology 101 knows better! The climate has changed over millenia.
At one time, in Roman Britain, there was a thriving wine industry - wine
grapes in England!!! That ended with the start of the Little Ice Age in
the mid-fourteenth century.
The Little Ice Age lasted until the middle of the 19th Century, to
about 1850 or so. It has been getting warmer ever since. It is likely
over the next several thousand yares that it will get even warmed, and
the Arctic Ice Cap will disappear; the Greenland Ice Cap will disappear,
or at least be severely diminished, and sea levels will rise -AGAIN - as
they have in the past. It is part of the cycle.
The only thing Cap & Trade laws will do is put more money, and,
therefore, more POWER, into the hands of the government. That is the
whole purpose of Cap & Trade - more money and power for the Washington
"elites".
Wake up America, before you've lost the greatest nation in the
history of the world, to a bunch of political hacks. You may find
yourself losing the right to be apathetic!!

Well I see it like this; first off I’m not the smartest man in the
world… but from the moment this Global warming lie started getting
traction. I knew it was a farce from the very beginning. Anyone who
believes anything that comes out of Al Gore’s mouth let alone Obama is
falling for a lie. I was always told that in order to believe a lie you
must first reject the truth, and when you reject the truth, you will
believe anything that spews forth from their mouth.
This Terra Firma planet earth has been around for thousands of years. It
has survived Biblical floods; catastrophic meteor impacts the Yucatan
crater, the Winslow, Arizona Barringer Crater, The Upheaval Dome, Utah,
The Brent Crater, Ontario, Canada, The Kara-Kul Crater, Tajikistan, The
Deep Bay crater, Saskatchewan Canada, The Chukcha Crater, Russia, and
The Haughton Crater, Northwest Territories, Canada. These are just the
tip of the iceberg of ones that I mention. Let’s not forget the
catastrophic volcanic eruptions Hekla (Iceland), Kalud, Ringii, Little
Sunda, Roung, Komogatake, Pinchincha, Omate, Katla, Teon, Gamma Kunnora,
Tongkoko, Krakatao, Hekla, Amboina, Serua, Celebres, Vesuvius, Santorini,
Little Sunda, Taal, Katla, Eideyjar Jokul, Asame Yama, Vesuvius, Mayon,
Tambora, Coseguina, Avachinskaya Sopka, Krakatao, Pelee, La Soufriere,
Santa Maria, Katmai, Agung, Agung, Hekla (Iceland), Kalud, and Ringii.
Guess what we are still here. Oh Snap! Can you imagine the carbon
emission they put into the atmosphere? Almost forgot about the11 the
big, most destructive and deadliest tsunamis on record.
Hmmmm, Oh yes and the hundreds of thousands of earthquakes throughout
history, in the words of Arsino Hall things that make you wanna go hmmmm?
Now I’m still trying to figure how in the world man can cause global
warming in less than 150 years of industrial revolution tha “Man” cause
a change in weather. I love it when they say “This is the worst snow
storm or heat wave on record” Ok; can someone tell me, what was the
record snow fall record 500 years ago? Ummmm, well we have only been
keeping records for the last 200 years. Ummm, ok. But our computer model
tells us that this is the predicted forecast for weather change.
Ok, oh please ask your computer Mr. Climate Scientist, can it tell me
tomorrows Lotto numbers for I can hit the big one. See my point nothing
but a big lie like the bible says in 1 Timothy 3:7-9 “Ever learning, and
never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (8) Now as Jannes and
Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of
corrupt minds reprobate concerning the faith. (9) But they shall proceed
no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs
also was”. So their lie has been manifested for all to see with the
e-mail lies, and manipulation of climate data. Seems like every day we
find out more, and more how we have been lied to. We have been
hoodwinked, taken, tricked, lie, bamboozled, and pimped. And thah
convoluted administration is still trying to force feed us with it. Now
Jannes, and Jambres were the Science and globe warming experts, the Al
Gore’s, and Barrack Obama’s of the days of Moses. God made a fool of
them just like the record snow storms of the past few weeks made a fool
out the Al Gore and the rest of the One World Order UN Climate Change
fools…Lol!

How about "jumping" to conclusions before any REAL data has been

I personally feel sorry for those who honestly fall for the whole
global warming crock of of garbage. It is merely the same scenario thats
been happening for centuries around the globe. We all know that the
earth was once under water. We ll know about the Ice Age. We all know
that sections of the earth throughout history have broken apart
literally from adjoining bodies of soil making for seperate continents
etc. Why then do so many believe that global warming is factual when
climate has changed for centuries?
After so many years of hearing the need to find more economic ways to
conserve energy etc. Now in the midst of recession, suddenly the
government seems more adamant than ever to push the ((Green
initiative)), and so many are falling for it . Hello!! Ultimately this
green initiative is more costly to the consumer in terms of getting
started with it and then on repairs if there's a problem. Meanwhile as
we continue in a recession where our property is worthless in comparison
to what we've paid for it and more and more jobless and homeless appear,
and the government continues to pay out our future Social Security ((
that we've all spent years putting into))which will not be available to
us afterall. We still continue to allow our governing officials to hand
immigrants our savings, tax free for a period of time etc. Nothing is
tax free for those of us who pay into all these programs. Does this
sound fair ??
Yes weather patterns are changing again as they have periodically for
centuries past . The perfect time for governing officials and such to
give it a name to try and force our hands into believing we need to go
completely green etc. and lay the brunt of the cost on us, the
consumers. What a perfect plan ? As for what I think of Gobal warming?
My reply in two letters is , ( BS).

Of course there is no global warming. None caused by man anyway. I
don't think there is any to begin with. It's all in the sun spots! No
sun spots equals no rise in temperature, as seen in the last 15 years
there have been little or no sun spots, and no rise in temperature.
And Profchuck, you're right on. They must keep saying what the boss
wants to hear to keep their funding, i. e. their paychecks!
Did they forget about the "mini ice age" during the 1700s? Didn't that
start in the 17th century and go through the 18th?
During the 1970s, they were warning us about an ice age coming. And a
mere 15 years later they started talking about global warming? And how
can the gas that we breathe out of our mouths, and what feeds plants, be
a greenhouse gas? Don't we need as much of this gas as possible to keep
the plants healthy?
This is all about money and will end up destroying the earth, not saving
it, if we allow Obama's plan to go through.
And why on earth did ANY of the stimulus money go to other countries?
How would that help US? It's just ridiculous to think that "man" could
cause global warming when the earth has it's own huge and very extensive
filtration system that is immune to anything we could ever throw at it.
But people.....please don't equate the record snow fall to global
warming or no global warming. This could be an el Nino effect.
Temperature doesn't necessarily have anything whatsoever to do with
precipitation. And we're talking about temperature only, not
precipitation, when we're talking global warming. It actually NEEDS to
be so warm to snow.
So please don't make yourself sound stupid by trying to say the record
snowfalls have anything to do with there being no global warming!
And tree huggers: We NEED to thin the forests! You are causing more out
of control forest fires by not allowing logging. For every tree cut, 10
are planted anyway. How did tree huggers get laws passed that are so
stupid as to stop logging anyway? I live in Idaho and know a lot of
loggers out of work.
