Charles: I would like to make a few comments on your article, What It Means To Qualify as A Person of the Remnant.
In the second para, you make a reference to what what left of the house of Judah but then call them (the Jews)....I would rather see them as being Israelites as well, as well as Judahites, but, not as you indicate, Jews. For this period of time is "before" the remnant returns from Babylon..as a "Jewish Nation", chartered as we find in Daniel 9, a nation destined to endure for seventy prophetic weeks, or 490 years. Consider the words of Lauritz Larsen, in his booklet, Israel, Judah and the Jew:
Point 42: Charter for "Jewish Nation" "This nation was chosen of God to supply the background and surroundings for the coming of Messiah (Dan.9:24-27). When these purposes were accomplished, the Jews rejected Christ as their Savior when they cried, Crucify Him, Crucify Him. His blood be on us and our children." (Matt.27:22-25) They rejected Christ as King, also by declaring, "We have no king but Caesar" (John 19:15), thus violating their own law, according to which they should not acknowledge a king who was not of their own race (Deut. 17).
The legitimate mission of the Jewish Nation th us ended, and by their own actions they terminated their national charter even as Christ had previously told them: "The Kingdom of God shall be taken from you..." (Matt.21:43). Note in this connection the marginal rendering of one line in Daniel 9:26, "The Jews they shall be no more his people." The dispersion of the Jews began when the Romans captured Jerusalem in AD 70. The dispersions and judgments pronounced upon the "residue" (Jews) in Jerusalem as found in Jeremiah 24:8-10, have continued down through the centuries, and the end is not yet."
At the time referenced in your first paragraphs, this nation was not yet a Jewish nation or a people known as the Jews, as this period is before, or right at the time that Nebuchadnezzar began to take Judah captive.
But, even before this time, during the 130 years after the earlier captivity of all tribes of Israel (Jerusalem and two small towns were not taken), the people became known as the "residue", or the "inhabitants" of Jerusalem (See Jer.8:1-3 & Jer.29:1). Mainly due to their assimilation with the neighboring, Edomites...for Esau is Edom (Gen.36:1) So, in any event when the Babylonians came and took the people of Judah into the Babylonian captivity, they returned as a Jewish nation, and brought back with them, their Talmud...a set of oral instructions devised by the Pharisees while in Babylon as a means of circumventing the Laws of the Torah...Hence Jesus' words about it being the "traditions of the elders that made the Law of non-effect."
When I noted that ALL of the tribes of Israel went into the Assyrian Captivty between 744-721 B.C. we must read II KIngs 18:13 to see that the Assyrian king Sennacherib, came in as the verse states, "Now in the fourteenth year of king Hesekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them."
We know from a clay prism of Sennacherib, found in the ruins of Ninevah (now in the British Museum), that most of the Nation of Judah (56 cities) were taken leaving only Jerusalem and those two small towns nearby to be reconstituted into the Judah that had to be in place to satisfy the Promise of the expected Messiah...
So, the issue of these people to whom you refer as Jews, must be reconsidered...Too often, we find Christians assigning to the Jews of the world, the role of being representative of ALL of the tribes of Israel...Not..
If we are to consider just why this remnant you note, did go to Egypt, taking Jeremiah and a few others who did not want to go, we must see God's purpose here, as a further cleansing of this remnant...a purging of those elements whose association with Esau/Edom dominated their lives..
After the destruction of this remnant in Egypt, very little is spoken about the miniscule remnant left of this group which included Jeremiah. But God does tell them that they will be destroyed in Egypt (Jer.44:12-14 & 27), but verse 28 speaks to an even smaller remnant that will return to Judah..Then in Jer.45:1-5, we find God speaking to Jeremiah and Baruch, words that are seemingly inconclusive, but in reality, speak to a promise by God to replant, that which He had built, "even this whole land." (v.4) In other words, to rebuild a Judah: and to Jeremiah and Baruch He gives a promise "...but thy life will I give thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest." (v.5)
Such a promise tells us that they, (Jeremiah & Baruch) will remove and go to other locations, as a "prey in all places whither thou goest." A confirmation that they will be held responsible for the future of Judah..If we go to God's call to Jeremiah in Ch.1, we can see in the instructions there, facts related to his future.
After God touches Jeremiahs' mouth (v.9)so as to give him understanding, we find God saying this; which relates to the future: "See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build and to plant." (v.10)
These words in the earliest writings of Jeremiah appear at the beginning, telling us that God was apprising him before he went on his mission to Judah, with words that applied to a time far ahead, but not well understood...That Jeremiah would have such responsibilities in the future."..to build and to plant."
But, because of the "arrangement" of the chapters of Jeremiah, we find the most prophetic chapters not at the end, but in the middle, especially those that relate to end time, distant future events...These are contained in Chapters 30 to 33...
In those chapters, we can find events as they are shaping up in today's world, especially the 2nd Captivity of Israel and Judah (now rejoined--Here in North America-the Two Sticks prophecy of Ezek.), as we find in Jer.30:3 and 18, which calls us Jacob, which we are now, having the same supplanter nature as Jacob, "before" his wrestling with the Lord's angel....and which resulted in God changing his name to Israel---a prince with God.....So we too, as Jacob (v.18) will experience our own "wrestling" as God notes in v.7...saying Alas! and calling it the time of Jacob's trouble....but also offering up the promise that he will be saved out of it...

Throughout the time line of the "Old Testament" (The Hebrew Scriptures), there have been small groups of The ALMIGHTY CREATOR’S faithful people who are known as "the remnant." Historically, one important group was the remnant that was left of the House of Judah (the Jews) after the rest of the nation had been taken to Babylon. They were in Jerusalem and wanted to flee to Egypt after they had killed the Babylonian appointed governor. Jeremiah warned this remnant not to voluntary go into Egypt to worship their pagan sun gods and goddesses (Jeremiah chapters 41 through 44: NKJV unless otherwise noted). This passage clearly states that those people who
composed The ETERNAL's remnant had to DO something--they had to answer the call by coming
out of the accepted pagan system of the day! In other words, our CREATOR called out a remnant (as well as the rest of the children of Israel) to follow the Commandments, Statutes, and Ordinances given to their forefather Moses on Mount Sinai. But as the above three chapters in Jeremiah
state, those of the House of Judah chose to go into Egypt and willfully practice the pagan
fertility cult of Egyptian sun worship. They burned incense unto foreign gods and
goddesses, namely the "queen of heaven" (who was "Isis," a pagan
goddess of the Egyptian trinity). They also poured out drink offerings and
baked cakes in their worship of her. "Isis" was known in Canaan as
"Astarte," who was the goddess of the morning and evening star. This was
synonymous with the Roman goddess "Venus." "Isis’"
Babylonian--Mesopotamian name was the fertility goddess "Ishtar"1. "Ishtar’s" name is correctly pronounced as
"Easter!"2 After the sword, famine-disease, and the eventual
captivity that consumed the House of Judah, a smaller remnant did finally come out of that
idolatrous event (Jer 44:28). It is interesting to note that the word drink in drink
offerings unto the "queen of heaven" is the Hebrew word (Strong's
H5262)--necek--the pouring out of a libation such as wine. The word cakes as in the
baking of cakes unto the "queen of heaven" comes from the Hebrew word (Strong's
H3561)--kavvan--which means a sacrificial wafer!3 This pagan ritual in today’s terminology is called "Holy
Communion." Additionally, the House of Israel (the ancestors
of the Western Europeans and the Anglo-Saxons) fell into this it, as well as other,
idolatrous practices such as the worship of the pagan god "Mithra" formally
called "Mithraism." "Mithra" was a Persian god who was the
mediator between humankind and the god of light "Ahura Mazda." The Romans
believed "Mithra" was the sun god, celebrating his birthday every year on
December 25! Three traditions are associated with the pagan god "Mithra:"
(1) his birth was of incest between his own mother and "Ahura Mazda;"
(2) he was born of a mortal; (3) after his redemptive work was finished,
"Mithra" ate a last supper with his followers and ascended to heaven, where he
still helps his faithful with their struggles against evil.4 For a condemnation from The Hebrew Scriptures of this practice, refer to
Jer 10:1-5. This idolatrous sun god worship is still
practiced by the descendants of the children of Israel today--only the names of the gods
have changed. Again, this ritual was not given to Moses on Mount Sinai. In
fact, the children of Israel were strictly warned to not add or take away what ETERNAL had
commanded (Deut 4:2, 12:32, and Prov 30:5-6). Furthermore, the children of Israel
were commanded not to even speak the names of pagan gods and goddesses.5
These pagan ceremonies have been mentioned,
because to be a person of the remnant, one is called by The ALMIGHTY ONE, to come out of
these pagan practices or perish! In the near future, history will once again repeat
itself as a small remnant will come forth out of the sword, famine--pestilence, and
captivity, to be protected from the global one world government, and the enforced one
world pagan religion. Micah 2:12 I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of so many people... These two passages proclaim that the remnant of the last days will be composed of the House of Jacob as well as others who trust, love, and obey their single CREATOR. However, notice that although they are protected, they do not go to a place of safety; they come out of the (future) captivity from where they will be scattered! Ezek 6:8-10 Yet I will leave a remnant, so
that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered
through the countries. Then those of you who escape will remember ME among the
nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart
which has departed from ME, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols;
they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.
And they shall know that I am The ETERNAL; I have not said in vain that I would
bring this calamity upon them.6
This is consistent with Jer 23:1-6 where The
ALMIGHTY says that HE will gather together HIS remnant (just before HIS return) and bring
them back to their folds when, King David--the Messiah will reign. This Scripture
along with Jer 31:7-9 and Micah 5:7-8 completely dispels that a physical place of safety
will be provided, or that some type of heavenly rapture (NT) will take place! This
is because the remnant will have important work to carry out while being held captive
among captives. In other words, the remnant will be a beacon of light, teachers, setting an example to the enslaved that in order to become free from captivity, the masses must repent of their sins and return to the true worship of The ONE SUPREME SOVEREIGN. How to Become One of the Remnant Most religions teach of a remnant of some kind. Nevertheless, the qualifications for such a person from the ETERNAL CREATOR’s point of view may have been totally overlooked by most people. For an accurate description, the following references very soberly advertise the credentials needed for a person applying for the position offered by our REDEEMER as one of the "remnant." The American College Dictionary states that a remnant: 1) is a part, quantity, or number (usually small), remaining. 2) A fragment or scrap, esp. an odd piece of cloth, lace, etc., unsold or unused. 3) A trace, vestige. 4) Remaining, residue. Confirming this: Isa 16:14 But now The ETERNAL has spoken,
saying, "Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the glory of Moab will be
despised with all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small and
feeble." From the above Scripture some words need to be more clarified. In Hebrew, remnant comes from the word (Strong's H7605)--she’ar--a remainder or residual portion. Very small comes from (Strong's H4213)--miz’ar--fewness, diminutiveness, and means the same as (Strong's H2191)--ze’eyr--to dwindle; be small. The Hebrew word for feeble is (Strong's H3808)--lo’--a primary particle. From these descriptions, it can clearly be seen that the future remnant will be a scattered group that will be very, very few in numbers. It will not be the erroneous 144,000 the "New Testament" would have you to believe. The ANCIENT OF DAYS is into QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY! For those people whose minds are open and called
to understand The ETERNAL's Scriptures in this age, be warned that being called is not
synonymous with being within the remnant. It seems many people reading this article
are failing to grasp the pivotal message being stated here. If you are being called
and understand our SAVIOR’S (Hebrew) Scriptures that is wonderful. However,
that alone will not be enough to protect you from the sword of war, the famine--disease,
the captivity that is on the near horizon. You must come out and separate yourself
from the pagan world. You must continually Quest to learn and live the characteristics that qualify you as one of those
people of the remnant. What are those traits? Amos 5:14-15 SEEK GOOD AND NOT EVIL, THAT YOU MAY LIVE; SO THE ETERNAL CREATOR OF HOSTS WILL BE WITH YOU, AS YOU HAVE SPOKEN. HATE EVIL, LOVE GOOD; ESTABLISH JUSTICE IN THE GATE. IT MAY BE THAT THE ALMIGHTY ONE OF HOSTS WILL BE GRACIOUS TO THE REMNANT OF JOSEPH. The above two Scriptures perfectly and purely define a person who will be protected, provided for, and able to endure the wailing and woes to come. To "do no unrighteousness" means to follow the Ten Commandments of the ONE SUPREME SOVEREIGN, which not only includes the weekly Seventh-Day Sabbath (sunset Friday until sunset Saturday--Exodus 20: 1-17), but also the Annual Sabbaths (Exodus 23:14-16). To follow the Annual Sabbaths, you must follow the correct (Hebrew) calendar, which is the lunar full moon calendar. This means that the first day of the new month always falls on the full moon (Psalms 81:3). In addition, righteousness includes the observance of the laws of clean and unclean meats (Leviticus chapter 11 and/or Deuteronomy 14:3-21). What assurance does a person of the remnant have that
The EVER-LIVING SAVIOR will protect and deliver the faithful until HE sets HIS feet upon
The Mount of Olives? Reflect upon the following: What more of a written guarantee can be given? One of the most fantastic blessings of being a person of the remnant is that in the morbid devastation which is to come, everyone within that group will be specifically recorded and marked on their forehead by an angel of The ONE SUPREME SOVEREIGN for special protection, because they truly sigh and cry over the abominations of their people (Ezek 9:1-10 and Zech 14:4-12). On the other hand, these passages foretell a grim outcome for the wicked and unrepentant who will be against The Almighty. Whether you are a member of an organized religion, an
atheist, or a person "just playing church," or an individual who answers The
ETERNAL's invitation to come out of this sick and dying world to be protected until HIS
return; if you are still alive during the calamities to come, you WILL go into
captivity regardless! The difference is that as a person of the remnant, you will be
protected and will endure the coming sword, famine--disease, and yes, slavery.
Having to go through what is to come, it is best to be on ETERNAL's side. If
you are going to go through something, anything worth going through is worth doing right!
Coming out of the pagan world and taking control of your own destiny as a person of
the remnant is the only Hope of Israel. Dear Brethren, The system was designed this way, we choose to be
blessed or we choose to be cursed. The ETERNAL SOVEREIGN, our CREATOR, The Mighty
One of Israel is explaining how the system works and in addition, He shows that He
wants us, His children, to make the right choice. We can choose to tell the
truth, or not. We can choose to observe the seventh day Sabbath, or not. We
can choose to draw closer to Him and Quest for Him, or not. We can choose to love and obey Him, or not.
Here is my prayer for you, I pray that you would: How do you know that what we have said it true? To prove it one way or the other, study to find the answers in the Hebrew Scriptures. It is the first portion of the Bible. The bible contains two parts one is called the Old Testament and the other is called the New Testament and it can be found in nearly every home, motel, or waiting room in the western world. Life & blessing or curses & death--to do nothing is to choose the latter choice. Wake Up America and all the other twelve tribes of Israel! It is later than you think and so begin now making the right choices. No man, dead or alive can save us. However, repentance to the Great Mighty One, the ETERNAL SOVEREIGN can and will save us. We must know our SOVEREIGN and His Way. We must study our CREATOR's Words to know Him and His Way. To know Him we must "Quest for the Ancient of Days." Let us help you with your Quest.
