The reason I keep saying that DNA testing can determine race is because that
is exactly what it does do.
Oprah Winfrey recently had a DNA test on PBS which revealed that her genetic
makeup was 89% Sub-Saharan African, 8% Native American, and 3% East Asian.
Molecular biologists in the U.S. have determined that the average mestizo
Mexican is 61% Spanish and other European groups, 31% Aztec/Mayan Indian, and 8%
Sub-Saharan African (other studies have found slightly different percentages but
the results are always around these figures). Dr. Mark Shriver, who conducted
genetic studies of the U.S. population at Penn State, found to his own surprise
that he was 22% West African in ancestry.
Where are scientists getting these percentages if DNA testing does not reveal
race and degree of racial admixture?

Skin color is not the current basis for racial classification. Dravidian
Asian Indians, Australian Aborigines, and the Kalahari Bushman all have black
skin but are not considered Black African (Negroids) by anyone. Racial
differences are not on par with species differences but show up in DNA testing
with great accuracy just as do species differences. Vincent Sarich, the
originator of the molecular clock dating technique, believes that racial
differences in a species are the beginnings of speciation and that the various
human races would have eventually evolved into separate species entirely if
their separation had continued.
